. . . and it was lookin’ good

On September  16, 2007, our Sunday school year started during worship with a service of sanctification of teachers and helpers.  Then the children and their teachers were off to learn how God created something from nothing.  From all of that nothingness, God created in a very logical and organized way the mighty and majestic heavens and earth.  Then came the plants and the flapping, swimming and walking wonders. God provided everything we need.   When he finished, he looked at all he had made and saw that it was . . . LOOKIN’ GOOD.  But, oops, something happened.  Be sure to come to Sunday school on October 7th to see what that “something” was.

Even though God created something from nothing, we have to create something from something. So popsicle sticks became picture frames for the children’s photos; fabric, crayons, and markers became animal art booklets entitled “God Made Animals and People”; rocks, feathers, and googly eyes became our rock pets; and masking tape, pinecone petals, leaves, wood chips, flowers and other natural materials found outside of  Memorial Hall became wristbands.  We are learning to appreciate God’s and man’s creations and are also talking about ways that we can take care of God’s creation as he charged us to do in Genesis 1 and 2.  Enjoy the pictures of some of our teachers and some of our students.

Nursery Care Coordinator Needed

The year has begun. A caregiver has been hired.  The routine is set.  Now we need someone to take over the maintenance of the schedule.  We need a nursery care coordinator to keep an eye on the smooth running of our Sunday morning nursery for infants and children through four years of age.  Generally the program runs smoothly.  Occasionally a substitute is needed (name and number/email address provided) or a crib sheet needs washing.  Please help us to keep our littlest parishioners happy and well cared for.  See Pastor Rich, Nancy (in the church office), or Barbara Pavlicek if you can help.
