O God, eternal goodness, immeasurable love, you place your gifts before us; we eat and are satisfied. Fill us and this world in all its need with the life that comes only from you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

OUR APPROACH TO GOD
Votum, Sentences (Green #22)
*Hymn 259 (Green) – “Santa, santo, santo / Holy, Holy, Holy”
Salutation
Prayer of Confession
We are hungry, O God, and our hunger consumes us. We look for easy ways to fill our emptiness, and so we turn toward material things and away from you. We cram our days with trivialities, neglecting the needs of others in a blind rush toward a self-satisfaction we will never find. Yet, even as we run from you, you continue to provide for our needs - and we learn again of your all-embracing love. Forgive us, we pray. Out of our foolish wanderings, help us to turn once more to you, that we may live our lives filled with the abundance of your forgiveness, love, and peace, under the Mercy of him who is your Son, even Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

OUR RESPONSE TO THE WORD
*Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Offering – “Awake, My Treasure, My Lord” Paul Hindemith
*Doxology (Hymnal #625)
*Offertory Prayer
We have been hungry, gracious God, and you have fed us. You satisfy hungry hearts and sustain hungry lives, and for these mercies, we give you thanks. As we offer you our praise, we offer you ourselves as well. Use us. Use our gifts, that we may minister to those who come filled with hunger of their own, and find that in feeding, we ourselves are fed; under your Mercy, Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Family Prayers, The Lord's Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.
*Hymn 363 – “More Love to Thee”
*Benediction
*Threefold Amen (Hymnal #628)
