  Prayer of Confession

            Almighty God, your Son Jesus Christ ate with sinners and welcomed the outcast, seeking to draw all people into your loving embrace.  Forgive us for the times when we have failed in our call to model Christ’s love to others.  We confess that we have been judgmental and hard of heart.  We confess that we are sinful and broken, in need of forgiveness and healing.  In faith and repentance we cry out to you, trusting in your promise of forgiveness and mercy.  Forgive us, heal us, and make us whole, that we may live in community with you and with one another.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

OUR RESPONSE TO THE WORD

*The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

  Offering

  Offertory - Improvisation on “We Cannot Measure”

*The Doxology: (Hymn #556):                          Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

                        Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  Amen.

  Prayer of Dedication

Loving God, in your generosity you have filled creation with your abundance.  By your word, you have created all things, and in your love, you provide for the needs of all living creatures.  In thanksgiving we bring you these gifts, the offerings of our time and our possessions.  With them, we dedicate our whole lives to you.  May we use these gifts to show forth your mercy and love in the world, through Jesus Christ, your Son, who gave himself in love for us.  Amen.

  Family Prayers & Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever.  Amen.

*Hymn #69 (Green) – “We Cannot Measure How You Heal”

*Benediction & Threefold Amen

*Postlude - O For a Thousand Tongues to Sing                                                          Paul Manz
