Prayer of the Day

God of compassion, you have opened the way for us and brought us to yourself.  Pour your love into our hearts, that, overflowing with joy, we may freely share the blessings of your realm and faithfully proclaim the good news of your Son, Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

  Prayer of Confession

It is with a sense of shame that we confess how often we have turned a deaf ear to your call, O God.  You have opened before us waves of opportunity, but our lives have pressed us in other directions.  Too much, our values and priorities have been confused.  Too regularly, our vision has been clouded.  We have made poor use of our time and our talents.  Forgive us, God.  Forgive us and call on us again.  Awaken in us a renewed passion and devotion, and supply the vision of the coming reign that is already breaking into our existence and making all things new.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

OUR RESPONSE TO THE WORD

*The Apostles’ Creed

I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth;

And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried.  He descended into hell.  The third day he rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty.  From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting.  Amen.

  Offering

  Offertory – “Here I am Lord”                                                          George Gurzo, Trumpeter

*The Doxology: (Hymn #556):                          Praise God from whom all blessings flow;

Praise Him, all creatures here below;

                        Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;

Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost.  Amen.

  Prayer of Dedication

Loving God, you are always the first to give.  From the moment you called us into your service, you have given us the gifts we would need to complete the work entrusted to us.  It is with deep gratitude that we now present our gifts – gifts of our continuing service and a portion of our worldly possessions.  Bless them as you have blessed us to the work of this community of faith.  In Jesus’ name we pray.  Amen.

  Family Prayers & Lord’s Prayer

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.  And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.  For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever.  Amen.

*Benediction & Threefold Amen
