The Celebration of Christian Worship
Celebrating 175 Years of Faith & Hope
June 22, 2008 Sixth Sunday after Pentecost 10:00 a.m.
Prayer of the Day
Teach us, good Lord God, to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labor and
not to ask for reward, except that of knowing that we do your will, through
Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.

Summary of the Law
Prayer of Confession
Holy Spirit, how we need you! Our vision is dim, our dreams are small. Come Holy Spirit, inspire and direct us: our faith, at time is feeble. Come Holy Spirit, kindle fire within us: our hearts are cold. Come Holy Spirit, heal and preserve us: fill this place with songs of praise, fuel our hearts with power and grace and help us to glow with the light or your love. Amen!

Prayer for Blessing on the Word
OUR RESPONSE TO THE WORD
*The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Offering
Offertory - $204 – “Lord Make Us Servants”
Verse 1, 4, 5 Soloist – Barbara Antoniewicz
*The Doxology: (Hymn #556): Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Prayer of Dedication
We have not heeded your command to make things right with our brothers and sisters before we offer our gifts at your altar, O God. Curiously, we find ourselves now at cross purposes with gifts in hand to further the work of Christ, who bids us to do what we are so reluctant to do. So take these gifts from our hands, loving God, along with our prayer that they will help accomplish not what we will, but what you intend. Amen.
Family Prayers & Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.
*Hymn # 285 (Green) – “May the Lord, Mighty God”
*Benediction & Threefold Amen
*Postlude – “Lobe Den Herren” Wayne Wold
We welcome Rev. Paul Van Elk to the pulpit this morning. Thank you1
