Prayer of Confession
Our lives move too fast, dear God. You know this and have invited us to slow down and find your calming stillness. We would like to find some centering in our lives, but the alarm clock sounds or the phone rings, and we are off on the next frantic pursuit. We are our own worse enemies, with an inflated sense of our own importance and an impossible list of tasks to accomplish. O Eternal One, who created time and yet is beyond it, look kindly upon our stumbling. Lead us out of our sense of what must be to a healing sense of what you have in mind for us. Save us from the calendars of our making, and call us into your time and purposes. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

OUR RESPONSE TO THE WORD
*The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth;
And in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried. He descended into hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of God the Father almighty. From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Offering
Offertory “Praise and Thanksgiving” Charles, Callahan
*The Doxology: (Hymn #556): Praise God from whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Praise Him above, ye heav’nly host;
Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.
Prayer of Dedication
You call us to this place, O God, to give of ourselves and to return a part of the blessings that you have shared with us. You are wiser than we are. At this altar, we find a sense of belonging in a calling that is larger and more holy than we are. So as we offer our gifts, O God; receive as well our thanks for including us in the calling you extend to your people. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
Family Prayers & Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory for ever. Amen.
*Hymn # Green 268 “Here I Am Lord”
*Benediction & Threefold Amen
*Postlude – “Be Thou My Vision” Paul Manz
