Blawenburg Church Cemetery
Donald Terhune is in charge of grounds and has done a wonderful job
cleaning and sprucing things up. The vines and trees have been
wrenched from the fence line, many old scrub trees have been removed,
and the shed, which was rotten, is also gone. The wings on the stone
gate, which obstructed one’s view when leaving the cemetery, were
removed; leaving the attractive stone posts.
There is a new presence on the scene however, a truly lovely sign with
our name on it. It is the first time our cemetery has had one. Don
cut and framed the wood, supervised the signage and installed it.
Thanks Don!
The cemetery is still being used; there are gravesites available.
Eric Perkins (609-947-3617) is the contact for sales
and burials.
It is the hope of the committee to upgrade and record a list of our
burials and gravesites for use by our congregation and the many
families and historians who contact us. We also plan to repair, when
needed, some of the old stones and the old historic fence.
Let us know how we’re doing.
