Adult Vacation Bible School

On four Mondays in July, Blawenburg Church will put a new twist on a summer tradition by holding Adult Vacation Bible School. Like the kid’s version, Adult Vacation Bible School will be a time of fun, food, and fellowship. Chaplain Nancy Curtis of St. Peter’s Hospital, who will lead the sessions, said, “Memories of Vacation Bible School bring smiles to many people, so we plan to have fun and create some new memories. It’s never too late!”

The program will take place on July 7, 14, 21, and 28 in Fellowship Hall in the basement of Cook Hall, which is accessible by stairs and elevator. There is no fee for this program.

Each session will begin at 10am with a time of worship, including exploration of four of Jesus’s parables—The Mustard Seed, The Prodigal Son, The Lost Sheep, and The Good Samaritan.

According to Chaplain Curtis, there will be a balance of worshiping, learning, creating, and socializing at the event. “We want people to interact and have fun,” she said. “People will share with others and find new ways to apply the parables to their lives.” The participants will have time to create artwork and crafts and participate in light exercise such as chair yoga. Lunch will round out the day, and the program will be completed by 1pm.
