Christmas Eve Services – December 24, 2021

You are invited to celebrate Christ’s birth at our Christmas Eve Services

in-person, on Zoom, or on Facebook Live.

Two Services
This year we will host two Christmas Eve services.

COVID-19 Safety Information

For entry into either of our Christmas Eve services, we will be asking for either:

  • proof of vaccination for all those who are 18 years of age or older

  • or proof of a negative COVID-19 test (within the past 48 hours) for all those who are 18 years of age or older.

  • Children 17 years and younger will not need to show proof of vaccination or a negative test.

  • Additionally, masking is strongly recommended.

Our church leadership recognizes that to attend large indoor gatherings, such as shows and plays at venues like the McCarter Theatre in Princeton, it is required that people show proof of vaccination or proof of a recent negative COVID test. Those of us who have attended such events have found the process easy and comforting. It is not hard to show a vaccine passport, or recent test result, and it is reassuring to know that everyone around us is protected from COVID-19. These measures ensure that everyone in attendance, no matter how closely seated, are extremely safe from the possibility of passing along or contracting the COVID-19 virus.

4:00pm ~ Carols and the Christmas Story

This service will be designed with young children in mind, but all are welcome to attend. The service will feature:

  • a few familiar carols,

  • a lively and interactive telling of the Christmas story by Pastor Jeff,

  • and a Christmas Eve prayer.

This service will be about 30 minutes. We welcome all children at this service, even noisy ones! It will be fitting, as the manger was alive with the sounds of animals and the cries of a newborn baby!

5:30pm ~ Traditional Christmas Eve Service

This service will follow our more traditional Christmas Eve style. We will:

  • sing familiar carols.

  • light our Advent candles.

  • listen to the Christmas story read from scripture.

  • hear a message and Christmas Eve prayer from Pastor Jeff.

The service will be about 45 minutes long and conclude with Silent Night sung by candlelight.
